Stumpjumper Elite

Hi all

Thinking of getting a Stumpjumper Elite tomorrow. I am new to full suspension so is there another bike I should be considering? Please bare in mind my original budget was £1000 so please don't recommend anything even more expensive than the already budget busting Elite.

I have the comp and it's a great bike however, according to the spesh website, its classed as very much a "wheels on the ground" XC bike. If you think your riding will regularly involve drops and jumps then I'd be looking at something a bit burlier like the enduro or the pitch pro just to avoid the nagging doubt that you might be killing the bike.

With 140mm of travel front and rear you need to really be pushing it downhill to exceed the limits of the stumpy. Enjoy.
