After much umming and arring, head scratching and saving...I bit the bullet and bagged this little monster.
I parked up in the middle of nowhere to take the shots and a farmer appeared telling me to clear off lol.
You can't see the paintwork properly but it's (Moonraker) black with silver flecks.
Asleep after a long days war.
She needs new engine mounts and the steering rack is leaking (and a few other bits are also weeping) but after an inspection by the TVR centre I got the green light
First drive was the 60 miles home from North London and the JDPower exhaust sounds like world war 3 is going on when you lift off the throttle. It corners like a go kart and the brakes although a little vague stop you well.
I have one question thus far...when the car starts up from semi-cold, there is a 3 second puff of smoke from the engine bay that disappears and doesn't return. The owner said it's happened since he topped up the oil. Any thoughts?

You say "puff of smoke from the engine bay" - to me this means its probably not an engine 'problem', but more likely an issue with the breather, over filled oil tank, or possibly an over-oiled air filter. Worst case you have an oil drip somewhere in the engine bay. Have you had a closer look at where this 'puff' is coming from? Also, are you sure it is oil? The most likely explanation is steam which could be from several sources, all pretty innocent and not 'rebuild' degree problems.

I think I get mistaken for you sometimes, you must visit/live near Huddersfield (My UK home) I get people waving as if they know me when the car is back in the UK. Also I got a phone call last year saying my car must have been stolen as it's in Whitegates garden center!!! when it's safely parked up in my garage in Norway

Congrats on the new addition to the family, looks awesome ! I'm also new to the fold, collected mine from Racing Green only a week and a bit ago, and just loving it !!! Sure you've seen the pics previously, everyone else has, at least 3 times ........... !
Hope you manage to get all the niggles sorted, it's a great car on the road, as I'm sure you've already discovered...........

I've fixed the horn (10amp fuse) and removed the rusted wiper arms to respray them...
Where is the catchcan/breather tank? I'll check that out.
The smoke appears to come from nearside front and only did it when the car was partially warm. From cold it's fine and from fully warm also (if you restart it after 10 mins sat).

I'm in effingham, surrey. Guildford is only 8 miles from me so would be the logical place to strike up a garage relationship Chris
I don't want to exploit the sweet handling or performance until the mounts are replaced, needs a full balance/tracking job done also as there's a degree of wobble from 70.
