Out with the Supercar drivers yesterday in my TVR...As we parked up , there was the biggest explosion I've ever experienced in a car, shockwave everything ... Typical TVR owner , thought ... that must be me.... thought a CAT had exploded. In fact it was the Noble next to me ... took a few seconds inspection to see that his Airbox had a big chunk blown out it ... guess from Petrol explosion in the Airbox. It even made a mess of his boot paintwork, crazing the fibreglass/paint... Felt really sorry for the owner, I had been admiring the car earlier.
But for once it was something other than a TVR being transported home on an RAC flatbed biggrin
Sure it will be fixed good as new or even better.

No. Seems to be a backfire of some sort, and fuel in the inlet as said above. Only ever heard of it twice and at least one was when starting, not stopping.

Nitrous Oxide isn't explosive.

It's just NO3

It's N2O really and it's not the nitrous that explodes. It just helps the fuel vapour in the intake go up.

Sounds expensive !! I wonder if you could fit a pressure relif valve to protect the inlet manifold .

Best not be.. mix it with water and you'd have Nitric Acid.

I assumed you meant that one. I did not bother with the run though the city centre, just deciding to head home. There must have been a good 60+ cars, a very good turn out.

The noble had just started up when you were parking along side glowworm, never experienced anything like it. Thanks for telling the info on your conversion and the business cards, wish we had had more time to chat

Cheers again
