The rear spoiler on my 04 Gallardo is stuck in the up position on one side only!

The other side raises and lowers with speed but the left hand side doesnt seem to go down, I have tried pushing it down / lifting the other side up but there is no movement to be had.

Anyone had this happen and if so what is the best way to fix it?

Cheers

i would try either a large hammer or some wd40. Seriously though, is is trying to move? looks like it is hydraulic off one central pump from the diagram on eurospares so could be something minor wrong in the piping

Hi matey
I have heard they get stuck because of rusting due to water.
I open up the engine cover door after i have wash the car, lots of water drains out.
Caelum blue on here did the fix a couple of months back.
could try and pm him.
Not that bad a job,as far as i know, get access to it by removing the inner trim.
Not sure if you can do it without taking the hatch door off though.
cheers biggrin

They are prone to it, the cable operation sticks. You need to take the black cover off the underside of the engine cover, and check the cables. Better still take the whole engine cover off and take it to the dealer to fix. If you keep using it you risk damaging the system, particularly as yours is one sided.
Mine wouldn't raise at all, so I took it all apart, had it not been for a couple of rusty screws whose heads were rounded out I would have done it myself, but took it to LHW, who sorted it in half an hour, with screw extractors and greased it.

£60, but if I slipped with the screw extractor it could have cost me a lot more, if they slipped it would all have been done for free smile

Yes, hoping the weather is as good as last year.
