I'm glad that the BBC business section have picked up on just how good the motorsport businesses are in the UK but why can't they do more?

What about a mention for Lola, Ginetta and Radical?

Doesn't alter the fact that Buckinghamshire is in South East England and half of the Silverstone circuit is in Buckinghamshire.

Plymouth is viewed as the back of beyond by those of us in the South East. Some roads don't even have kerbs there. Check out:

it reads as if recent developments in motorsport are being implemented into production cars

what about disc brakes and crumple zones? although they don not benefit the environment they have saved many lives which is as important as any other development

You can't claim crumple zones as a racing innovation! The concept was patented by Daimler-Benz in 1952, its first practical application being the 1959 "Fintail" - decades before any racing car had anything resembling a crumple zone.

Superficial article if anything, showcases how little attention the BBC pays to motorsport in general outside of F1 and motogp. I was searching the sport website and they mention nothing of WRC or WTCC, both top level racing series. Disappointing indeed.

Erm, duh? They only mention the sports they have broadcast rights too

You really expect them to plug something like WRC which would involve people turning to Dave, WTCC on Eurosport, or even the BTCC often on clashing weekends with F1 shown on ITV4.

It's the BBC, broadcasting rights or not, you'd expect them to have at least some information about WTCC, considering we've had a British World Champion three times over... Broadcasting shouldn't come into it, the BBC is meant to be inpartial and give balanced reporting, on any subject, this should include top level motor sport events.

Come on now, impartial BBC!

They wont give any coverage to BTCC etc on the website because they dont show it. Have any of those 3 ever been included in the BBC Sports Personality?

Its one of my main bug bears with the licence fee, they are not in any way impartial and in cases like this, completely blinker the general public to what they want them to watch.
