I am new to the Sag so have couple of questions I have found so far with mine:

I suspect a fuse may be at fault but when I(not always) turn the headlights to full beam the dash surround (back) lighting goes. It almost happens every time I flash the main beam and 70% time when going to main.

I then have to stop the engine and restart, lights are back on. Also is it normal for the main beam lights to start off blue colour then move to a more yellow shade one they have ben on for say 10 seconds?

Could somebody also give me an indication of the ideal oil temperatures/pressure I should be getting when running.

The backlighting is configurable; you can set it to be darker when the lights are on (i.e. at night) than normally. Check the menu.

Oil temperature should follow water temperature, typically twenty degrees lower IME until you get stuck in traffic, when it will climb. So, say 75°C when the water is in the 90's. It can give a false low reading at motorway speeds, say in the 60's, due to airflow around the sensor.

Oil pressure seems very variable from the reports I've read. There were issues with the original senders giving low pressure warnings, so it depends very much on the car. I wouldn't want to give a figure as it is easy enough to worry about these cars from the general, rather undeserved, reputation.

the backlighting goes almost completely on main beam and doesn't return when flicked back to dipped beam so surely it can't be config. thing?

Ok, I've misunderstood you. I'd still check what it is set to do, maybe a clue there. I cannot imagine a fuse is fixing itself each time you restart!

Are your headlights HID units? as they take a few seconds to get upto full colour temperature when first switched on.
Also if they are HIDs aftermarket fitment check out how they are wired as there is an add on wiring harness available from HIDs4U that resolves curent issues. Also check all the earthing points on the chassis, front rail by radiator for lights. Engine to engine mount drivers side, one by the battery and another behind the battery.

I suspect you have HID lights fitted as suggested above. They change colour as they warm up over the initial 10 seconds or so from blue to white dependant on their k value. It is well documented that they (HID lights) cause issues with the dial illumination. I fitted them to my Tam. I have to turn the ign. on first before the lights otherwise the dial illumination goes out. Does the radio reception get worse when you switch the lights on?

Oil pressure will vary depending on type (weight) and engine speed amongst other things. I get 60-80 degrees when hot with a pressure 16-18psi at 850/900 rpm. On the move about 45-55psi with 65-70psi when cold. Oil temp always reads lower onthe move as the sensor is in the air flow so you get a cooling effect.
