i pick up my first m3 tomorrow cant wait.one of the problems is the polish on the wheels is coroding.i was wondering whether there was any thing that i could do with abit of old fashion elbow grease and polish or would i have to get them sent away for a re ferb.the alloys arnt kerbed at all its just the finish is corroding.
the cars also got black leather i was wondering what people use on there seats.there in good condiction and i want to try and keep them that way.

Which M3 wheels are they? Have you got a pic? If they are polished then laquered thats the issue. There is no key for the paint to stick.

I had the smae problem with my M Parallels so had them stripped and polished. Only issue now is, they need polishing every few weeks because the alloy has no protection from the elements. A tube of autosol every month. Its worth it though.

Falkster - Try Autoglym metal polish, i used to use autosol on mine but the protection did'nt last very long, I had to apply after most washes because of water marks.

The metal polish is miles easier to apply and remove and the finish is Bang on. It also acts as a protection but I used a Carnauba wax as an extra coat and i hav'nt had to polish them for ages.

there are some amazing sealants and waxes to protect alloys these days. Need any help in deciding which ones are the best?

A mate of mine into the Dub scene swears by the Meguiars Metal Polysh, which apparently polishes then seals as well or something.

He explained it to me once, but I was too busy doing my hair in the reflection on his BBS', they were that good!

Which wheels are you having problems with? The E46 19" wheels?

I think there is some confusion in this thread. Your wheels will have laquer on them which is lifting and chipping, when I posted I think I confused matters as my BMW alloys are diamond polished so dont have your issue but due to not being laquered they dull quickly hence the suggestion of using Autoglym metal polish rather than Autosol.

The only way you are going to get your wheels to look new and shiny is either a total refurb or diamond polishing the 'shiny' part of your alloys which would then mean you would need to use metal polish to keep them looking nice and shiny - this will, however, eradicate the issue of lifting/chipping laquer.

Anyone have a recomemndation for a good firm that does diamond re-polishing, and likely cost per wheel?

Cant help you with who due to your location but likely to pay around £50 a wheel. The results are great though!!!
