What do you think woudl look best?
Discussion
Sartorial advice in the wheel department required please!
This is my 'new' S-Type:

The current wheels are 17" Jaguar 15-spoke 'Antares' pattern. I quite like them but they need refurbishing and one is a bit damaged and would be best replaced. So I can either spend about £250 getting them to look new, or spend a bit more and start again with something else.
As regular viewers will know I like a pattern called Libra, which is also 15 spoke but with a smoother look (and therefore easier to keep clean!). However a new set is well over £1,000 and that's more than I want to spend. Whilst designated for the XF, there seems to be no reason why they will not fit an S-Typer as well.
I want to stay with 17" wheels for the ride comfort, but not too boring and not too bling. What does the panel think would suit please?

You might struggle - most of the OEM wheel designs for the S-Type around that era were horrible, especially in 17". I think you could probably get away with 18" without too much ride comfort sacrifice, which significantly opens up the options for you.
The only wheels I have ever liked on the S-Type were the BBS ones fitted to the ltd edition XS (I think they were also available as an accessory), but as such they are quite rare.

Thanks - those look qute good. BBS is an interesting idea, I'll keep an eye out.
My 2001 S-Type had 18" BBS Monacos which were an official option. They looked great but had flush valves (a PITA) and the Pirelli P-Zeros were constantly losing pressure and wearing out faster than any tyre I've known before.
Junos (common on 2.7Ds) look a bit dull and the aftermarket ones a bit too wide-boy IMHO, not right for the car.
ETA Well you've just cost me some money - found a new set of the BBS ones on eBay for £495 and they looked just right

The Monacos were quite nice, and probably about as 'bling' as you would want to go on a S-Type. A bit dated looking but perhaps suited the retro character/design ethos of the S-Type.My 2001 S-Type had 18" BBS Monacos which were an official option.
