Things that go bump in the night
Discussion
Just thought I'd share with you this little tale of annoyance from last night! Feel free to post one of those hilarious "cool story bro" pictures.
So I was showering and generally getting ready for bed at about 10:30pm when I heard a woman and her teenage son having a row about the fact that he couldn't go to a party at that time of night. Not thinking much of it, I finished brushing my teeth and wandered into the bedroom. Our lass was looking out of the window. I asked her what she was looking at and she said she'd heard a banging noise. Told her about what I'd heard and thinking it was connected we settled down to sleep.
Shortly afterwards we heard the banging noise again - almost as is someone was banging dirt off their boots. I had a look outside just to make sure it wasn't someone breaking in or anything, which it wasn't, and determined the noise was coming from further up the street. It got steadily louder and more constant and after about 5 minutes I had another look out the window, still couldn't see anything. I also couldn't work out what it was. It was too repetative for hammering, and sounded like someone kicking a fence. It was too loud to be a cat stuck in a shed or something, and my next thought was someone kicking a door through. I thought I'd go and investigate - more to do with the fact that it was getting on my wick than concern for someones property if I'm honest. Slung a pair of jeans and a tshirt on and went for a nosey. I detemined it was coming from somewhere behind a house, opposite the end of our driveway. Wandered back inside and told our lass what I'd discovered (which wasn't much really). The noise continued at a steady pace for another 15 minutes or so, and I started to get a bit concerned. It couldn't be someone breaking in - or rather, if they were then they were making an absolute hash of it. I thought perhaps someone was in trouble and was banging on a door for attention. So I decided to go for another inspection. Now the house where it was coming from has fences all round the back garden which I didn't fancy scaling in the dark. But the noise was definitely coming from the back of the house. Went back inside and after discussing it for 5 minutes or so (with the noise continuing) we decided we'd call the police on their non-emergency number. After all, if someone was trapped somewhere or needed help I'd feel an absolute See You Next Tuesday if I could have helped but didn't. Explained to the operator what was happening and she said they'd send someone out.
The noise kept on for the 40 minutes before I heard a car coming up the road. They'd sent an officer with a dog to investigate. Sure as anything, when he got out of his van the noise subsided. Now at first, the officer got the wrong house and was looking round the back of an old dear's place who lives a few doors down. As he was looking the banging started up again, which he obviously heard as he then wandered over to the correct house, shining his torch around. I don't know if he'd thought he needed some assistance or what, but a couple of minutes later another car turned up with two more officers. At this point the dog handler had got through the gate and into the back garden of the property, and I could see him shining his torch. The banging stopped and they knocked on the door of the house. Nobody answered so they carried on looking round before heading back to the road and stood there for a few minutes, probably ascertaining whether or not it would start back up if they left - it didn't. I saw them coming over to my house, and they knocked on the door, so I popped down. They asked me exactly what noise I'd heard. I explained it again to them and the dog handler said that's what he'd heard. He then told me what he thought it was. Rabbits. The fecking neighbours rabbits were evidently having a bit of passion late at night and in the process were banging on the bottom of the hutch! Once the officer had shone his torch on them they stopped. I couldnt believe it. He said he honestly thought it was a door being kicked through as well, with how loud it was.
Here I was concerned for someones saftey and all it was was a couple of randy fecking rabbits! I had to apologise to the officers for wasting their time, which they said was ok and it was better to make sure. They went on their way and I went back to bed. The banging started back up 5 minutes later

That reminds me of the time i told our lass about the next door neighbours going at it at about half two in the morning one time. How do you know that she asked, well i replied it sounded like a woman in the throes of passion, and sounded like it was next door. The next day a flock of canada geese from the lake near our house flew over making this very noise, mrs slopes laughed at me and im left looking like a right burk

If someone attacks you, rape them.

Can someone please tell me I didn't just read a story about shagging rabbits?
Can't help you there... I've just wasted a few minutes of my life too!

I must admit, I was mildly impressed (if not a little envious) that he'd kept going for over an hour and could be heard from about 100 feet away!
