Strange Xbox problem

I turned my Xbox on yesterday as usual. I noticed the graphics looked a little off, so checked the settings and for some reason they had reset to the lowest possible resolution. I changed it back to 1080, but I am unable to get any sound at all. It is connected via HDMI to my Amp and then to my TV. Nothing has changed since I last used it, I just can't figure out why there is no sound. I am guessing it is an Xbox issue rather than a problem with my amp due to the resolution settings apparently changing on their own. I have checked all the connections and everything seems fine.

Anyone wiser than me got any suggestions?!

Not wiser, but as a strange coincidence, my Xbox also lost all it's settings the other day ?

Sound was ok though ?

I would bypass the amp and try directly to the TV. If it doesn't come through the HDMI, whack the component in and see if that works.

Other than that, have a fiddle in the sound settings. Try switching between the different types of output.

Another strange xbox problem I have, is that the console is an hour behind, despite trying different DST settings and changing time zones, then changing back, it automatically updates itself when you connect to live, an hour behind

Mine does that too, only the one in the livingroom though, the bedroom one is fine.

Is yours an elite by any chance??

My xbox change the MW nat type to strict on the weekend lucky I spotted it before the double points ended and switched it back again to open.
