Exhaust Option

Love my Tuscan so much, I never knew a car could please on so many levels, but....

At low revs and idle it doesn't have the aural clout of a Chimaera or Cerbie.

The easiest way for more sound is to replace the slip-on silencers, right? I am not looking for more power just more noise although not keen on Motorway drone.

Anyone know these exhausts?

Those are the ones you want, commonly known as Carbon cans. They give plenty more noise and pops and bangs on overun.

Is there a thread on how this is done?

it must be somewhere but how hard can it be
messure the lenght and the diameter you need (in the inside of youre exhaust can)
go to a construction workshop and have them cut 2 lenghts
shove them in and start the car (dont drive with it when they're not fixed, you'll loose them)
if the sound suits you have them spot welded

This is relatively easy to do.
Get 51mm OD stainless tube, cut 2 off to 400mm long.
Remove back cans and the 'sleeves' will be a good interference fit in the existing inner perforated tube.

Just make sure all the perforations are covered.

The problem I found with sleeving is that it makes your exhausts really really heavy. I hit a smallish pot hole and it snapped one of my end cans where the gause is welded to the end dome bit (the part that has the clamp on)

I ran mine sleeved for a few years with no problems but it's worth getting the thinnest walled tubing you can find to keep the weight down.

Regarding welding, having tried to remove mine (and failed miserably ) I'm not sure it's needed.

I've got pipe cut for sleeving if anyones interested. Bought it from a PH, cut it to length and inserted into the cans. Way too loud for me so I took it out straight away. Happy to let you have them if you PM me

Email him and he will do a pair of these in stainless steel even cheaper - great quality (I have them on mine). Then clean up your old cans and list on ebay - you will get about £50 - £80 quid for them as someone will want them for track days.

It was very simply removing the cans and fitting some pipes.

Was that your reflex Tuscan 2? I was thinking it needed company on the grid to go with the pair of Wedges
