Hi all,

Trying to get new Libre-T telepeage thingums for the cars. Had some in the past and paid for all with credit cards. Now I need 2 new ones and it looks like they need a French bank account and have stopped the ability to use a credit card. I can't get through to anybody on their telephone IVA system either; it's robots all the way!

Can anybody tell me if they do still take cards, and if so how, where or what do we have to do to get them that way now?

Cheers,

Dave

My mates is definitely still credit card as we are using it next week for Le Mans. I will check with him to see what I can discover.

Definitely available online and via credit-card from SANEF's website

€30 deposit on the Transponder itself

I logged in to my account at the weekend and it still had my CC details on it so I'm just going to rock up to the orange lane next week and hope for the best!

I don't remember seeing any emails from Sanef about any changes so perhaps it is just new accounts?

There was a similar thread last week I think, if you search back.

Thanks, I think it may be new accounts only. Ah well.

I did have a look before posting but couldn't find anything. I'll look again now.

You can definitely get them on a UK credit card as a new customer because I got one last week. There is a thread on here about it and I used the information to get mine.

Nope, they've commented out the bit where you can select a credit card option now, it is only possible to enter bank details. It says at the top that you have to have a French bank account too. I had to fiddle the form to let me do it.

Try a different autoroute company - here:

It doesn't matter which company you buy it through - works throughout France. I got mine in March using credit card.

Or go for Cofiroute - Ordered mine yesterday (as my Sanef one if Kaput) and it is already trackable on line with La Poste.

Booked using my Visa (Switch as was) card.

Have just gone for this and ordered one. Gives you two options to pay -
First one is to pay by credit card and then set up a direct debit which you fill a form in and send to your bank and back to them within 15 days
Second is to go direct debit from day 1.

I opted for the credit card initial payment. Costs 12 euros for it to be sent to the UK and should arrive within 4 days. My only concern is that the DD instructions to my bank are all in French. Bet that'll confuse them hehe as it doesn't take much rolleyes.

That is quick!

I called SANEF yesterday to give them my new credit card details and also switched to monthly subs instead of annual. It's only EUR2/month but only charged for the months you use the transponder, which was 6 months last year, but only 3 months this year I expect. thumbup
