What does a chassis need for registration / IVA

Im currently looking for a unfinished project/ rolling chassis sort of thing but what do I need with it, documents, chassis numbers etc for registration. Its a westfield i am planning on getting if that makes a difference.

If it is a Westfield (insert any other know maker) and you want to register it as a Westfield (insert any other know maker) then you will need the chassis number and receipts.

If the chassis is home built then you can make up your own chassis number or apply for one at your local DVLA office.

In all aspects of registration and IVA you will be required to produce receipts for everything to convince them the items are not stolen. If they are not convinced they can refer the case to the police.
