Guys,

I am looking for a villa in the Algarve, or possibly coastal Southern Spain for 8-15th Aug.

We need a mimimum of 3 beds, preferably 4 and want a well appointed modern place with its own pool within 5 mins drive of the beach and village / restaurants.

Any reccomendations gratefully received.

James

I've used these before, James, and they were excellent.

Quinta do Lago has some lovely places to rent... Good security, set in a nature reserve, restaurants etc are there but it's only a short hop into Faro... Own stretch of beach... Nice place for a holiday but it can be pricey

Quinta do Lago looks good, though it looks like it might be a little dominated by Golf - is that the case?

Its suprising how expensive some part of the Algave have become!!

Property in the Algarve shot up when the euro was introduced and europeans got rid of all the cash they had stashed away under their sofas. Prices are actually a bit less now and most property is proving much harder to sell than they were a couple of years ago. If you go a mile inland prices are much much cheaper.

Holidaying in general has become a lot more expensive in the Algarve. Oddly as business with golf weekends and holiday makers has plummeted over the last couple of years, the local bars & restaurants have actually increased their prices hugely.

Quinta makes a big deal of it's golf because the courses are lovely... I believe it's of tournament standard... But I don't play and have had great holidays there.

It is amazing to see how expensive property is there, certainly more than I thought it would be when I looked at buying a European bolt hole at Quinta (mind you it's always been expensive there) but as
others have said, it's levelling off now.

Hello James

Our place is booked long since (see profile), but if you let me know your budget and any other requirements, I can probably locate something for you. Also if you have a licence, a good friend has a few light aricraft, and has recently got involved in the new race circuit, where he has some proper karts available. I think he must know his kart stuff as he ran karts for Button, Hamilton, Kubica , Fisi and a few other names. PM if you are interested.

Sorry my place was booked out ages ago www.algarvevillarental.info, however I rent out via a company called villas and vacations who tend to offer high end properties based in the golden triangle

Or try Fegan properties dunas douradas management company who look after the resort where my place is
Good luck
