There were actually several 'Goldfinger-spec' DB5's, as a couple more were built up as publicity cars with the gadgets. Top Gear magazine covered the sale of one a few years ago IIRC.

It’s not quite the full story with that car – its new 5 speed gearbox gave a lot of trouble during filming compared to the gadget car’s old 4 speed so it was actually the gadget car that was used in most of the driving scenes too. It was even the gadget car that did the crash in Goldfinger, although thanks to the wall being made of cardboard only the front numberplate mount was damaged.

The gadgets on there now weren’t seen on Thunderball, even though that car was. Basically it’s been restored to a spec it never had during filming. The only feature it had in Thunderball was a water cannon out the back, which was a fire hose clipped to a bracket under the rear bumper and the fire hose trailed out of shot.

And while I’ve got this anorak on, I’d like to tick this option on my next car wink

Can anyone indulge my Wednesday morning fantasy that has no chance of becoming reality?

See this on the Daily Wail, I had that wonderful urge to take a replica and add these gadgets to it for a super toy (without destroying a real DB5 in the process). I couldn't find a replica that looked anything like a DB5. Are there any good ones out there?

Sure sat on it long enough to make that possible.
