Any PHers going? I shall be there with a few buddies. Was outstanding fun last year. The speeds and bravery were unbelievable! Scenery's to too bad either!

Think I will be heading up, not positive yet though.
Went last year, and many times before, its a great couple of days, get some beers for the 4 cross and settle in a nice spot on the hill!
From what I have heard all the campsites are full, so am probably going to wild camp in Glen Nevis somewhere.

one of the campsites is holding back something like 100 pitches that can only be 'had' on a first come first service on the day.
i remember either lochy or glen nevis saying this to me on the phone a while back.
why they are doing it, i have no idea!

Me and another PH'er will be there in my Elise... it'll be the first time in the highlands with my elise and my first attempt to go camping with it to!
Cant wait we've got a campsite pitch for Fri - Sun although only using it for Friday poss Sat.
Is there any place to get a good view point and great photos from?

Probably to allow for groups who turn up with an extra bod who decided at the last minute to come or to allow for people who each want their own individual tent.
Seems to happen a lot at GG.

Lots of places to get great shots from, best bet is to walk up the side of the course, you can get the gondola, but it's a bit of a faf, head to the very top for fast rocky action in the open, and stay lower down for technical forrest riding, the bigger jumps are near the run in to the finish, but it gets pretty crowded down there at final time.Cant wait we've got a campsite pitch for Fri - Sun although only using it for Friday poss Sat.

My favorite section is just before the half way point, the riders are in the woods, there are a few little bridge crossings and bermy sections and some seriously technical sections.
Yeah, it was a great weekend. Made even better by the weather behaving itself for both days too. I was there Sat and Sun all day both days, knackered by the end of Sunday but well worth it. Took the gondola up then walked down both days - and was lucky enough to share our gondola with Matti Lehikoinen (Team CRC rider) on Saturday, really nice chatty guy 
Walked the course during the finals on Sunday and watched the final 20 guys from just below the final Shimano arch at the top of the steep chute. Great weekend. Got loads of photos but no time to upload yet...
Spotted a nice TVR in the rural complex carpark on the Sunday too

Was a great day (went up for Saturday) and the Friday drove up going along the west coast which was simply amazing!
Must admit though, I didn’t think to much of Fort William itself and some of the locals (or just visiting riders) attitude towards my car... not that I expect people to be smiling waving me in but some of the looks and comments were just unnecessary.
Example: I went out Friday afternoon to get some steaks for the BBQ and whilst out someone (not me I’ll add, my tyres cost 300 quid for a rear set and I don’t like to waste them) layed down some long elevens outside the campsite making loads of noise.... my mate back at the tent overheard people saying it must be that f'ing Elise.... and over the two days I had other stupid comments and looks.. Did I drive spiritedly outside of Fort William... yes course I did. But once in town and on the campsite I tried to keep to idling around as I have a stg 2 exhaust which not everyone appreciates in the same way I do.
Anyway rant over the scenery, bikes, course and the odd girly made for a fantastic weekend and although I had to go to the GP yesterday for antibiotics for the amount of bites I’ve received…… I would go back and do it again next year.

I'd be lying if I said I can remember the colour or model - I really wasn't feeling 100% on Sunday morning Blueish Tuscan by any chance?
. But I think it might've been a light blue Tuscan - yours? Some of the female DHers were, ahem, rather tasty. Number 23 was a stunner according to my mates who spotted her with her helmet off at the gondola station...
