...during the '98 World Cup.

Watching a re-run of it all last night. I was working in France and because of a speeding ban in the UK was a passenger in a very knackered Fiesta van! Myself and a colleague travelled all over France then up to Belgium, Germany and Holland during the World Cup and actually watched the fateful 'Beckham game' in St Etienne where the Mexican (I think) squad was staying. A bizarre night of critiquing in several languages followed by large volumes of alcohol.

At home the trusty and truly battered Nova SR was waiting for me, how times have changed smile

So what were you all driving back in 1998?

Back then I had a company car only, & it was a Ford Cougar V6 X pack, in black.
Despite it being wrong wheel drive I really liked it too.

A 1987 Peugeot 309 GE in cherry red. It had a 55bhp 1.1 OHV Simca engine in it and a 4 speed gearbox.

It was awesome and I loved it.

Ford Fiesta Popular 957cc.

What a beastie it was... with only one wing mirror to improve drag coefficient and reduce weight it was a quite a formidable machine.

And this year? If it's not a westy and a small VW then you have a week to make amends lest we shall all surely die!
