horrifying, ironic that irrespective of its safety standard it will be sold, however if it didnt meet emmision standards it would be a big no no

I hate China and the toss they're peddling to us day in day out.

I've gone right off on a personal crusade to not buy Chinese rubbish anymore. You try looking at labels to see where stuff is made these days - it's almost impossible to avoid the crap. It's all bloody Chinese!

I so wish it was possible to buy quality products made here or maybe in Europe or the States which was desgined and built to last from decent materials - but the bloody far east has put paid to all those industries.

It makes me laugh, all this climate change bks. On the one hand we're being taxed to oblivion to help the planet, and then all we do is spend the little money we've got left on utter garbage from China which lasts five minutes, then breaks, and we have to go and buy again.

Meanwhile the burgeoning Chinese industry is belching millions of tons of Co2 out creating all this cheap crap, using tons of fossil fuels, and then wasting tons more shipping the garbage halfway round the world.

And then the final insult is once it's all broken it rapidly fills all our landfill sites too.

It gets my goat like you wouldn't believe.

Spot on

I don't buy from China either. I wonder how many others do the same?

Difficult though, as you say. I'd happily pay more for electronics which were at least manufactured in a democracy, but they're not easy to find!

To all those moaning about everything being made in China - you can't have your cake and eat it. You can't shop like crazy, demand ridiculous salaries and standard of living which exceeds most of the world's population yet expect cheap things to be made locally. European companies can't compete with low prices being demanded by the mouth-breathing masses.

Some of you might remember that Japanese stuff wasn't exactly known for it's quality in the middle of 20th century and look how that turned out. As shocking as these crash tests seem they're roughly where 70's and 80's cars were.

I guess what I'm saying is that you get what you pay for.
