A friend of mine loves his cars as much as the next man & at dad's day out he mentioned that he really want's to see a Mclaren F1, needless to say there wasn't one there. He know's I lurk around here & I foolishly volunteered to see if anyone can suggest somewhere he can have a look at one. No, I'm afraid he's not looking to buy etc just another car nut wink

Cheers!

Ps sorely missing the gransport now the sun's back! might have to reconsider my current transport!

Maybe you should go to the Wilton House supercar day in August,
it is going to be there.

The best place would be this years Festival of Speed, there should be a few there. Apart from that and the above Wilton House event, you never can tell where one might appear as understandably the owners don't tend to advertise their future appearances.

Since McLaren are opening dealers in Birmingham, Manchester and London. A rare opportunity might arise when a McLaren F1 could be for sale or is just being stored at the showroom, so the chance of bumping into one could increase.

I have only ever seen the Orange F1 GTR at Cars International in London, but it has now gone. I think the same F1 GTR is now for sale at DK Engineering.

Jay's Wilton house meet is your best bet to see an F1 in the flesh.
you'll see a lot more there as well.

We wanted to get one for Dunsfold but the 3 i'm aware of were unable to make it.

however i do know that at least one has confirmed for Wilton House this year.

I hope you find one, they truly stunning. A few years ago there was one for sale just down the road from me which was a complete surprise.

I was able to get some pictures and have a sit in it too. It was very nice.

Wilton House sounds like a perfect excuse for a day out, thanks guys. I've passed the message on so there's another 3/4 people for the list.

2 different F1s I believe. Long tail (CIA plate) is the Cars International one. The GTR that 'was' at DK Engineering is the one from Fifth Gear.

DK Engineering failed to sell that car, and the now previous owner gave Elms Collection a go at selling and they sold it within a month or so.

Apparently BCA are having a "Supercar" Sale this Saturday.. Their site is currently down so I can get info on what is there, but I know one of the 150 or so supercars is a Veyron.... Blackbushe is not a million miles from Reading.. might be worth checking the site tomorrow or giving them a bell.....

No F1 at Blackbusche I'm afraid. The most interesting thing is the Veyron, followed by a few F430's and Aston Martins, nothing too exceptional.

DK did fail to sell the F1 after the best part of a year of trying, the closest deal coming around the 3rd quater of that tenure prompting a cracked windscreen to be replaced and the car to undergo a respray that resulted in the car being 2 shades of orange! smile suppose you can't win them all!

Best place to be guranteed to see one is the Wilton meet.

Yes, 2 different F1's; the Longtail was at Cars International and was last seen at Lanzante's. the short tail one is chassis #16R that used to belong to a membe ron here before ELMS sold it.

Goodwood's Festival of Speed should be the best, and earliest, opportunity to spot [at least wink] one for definite

Thanks. Literally just checked the old threads on it on AF and seems it is the case, which is nice to know. Do we have any further info? [Is anyone at liberty to divulge?]

Neither DK or Elms sold the car. I sold it. A very good friend MikeC had a mate that became very interested in Mr Bridger's F1. I texted Mr.B's number to him and Mike's mate did the deal with him. It is still in the UK but I would not say who bought it without OK ing it first. Although I do not know the guy he is a true petrolhead. What about my brokerage fee doh! forgot about that wink but that's what friends are for smile
