Imagine the scene, you are stuck in a long tailback and when you eventually get to the front what do you see? The Police standing around looking at an Artic etc which has just stopped in the middle of the road.

Do you know what could have happened, have you ever wondered why the Police 'appear' to be standing around doing nothing?

This is a common problem that causes so many of us delays and one which we (Trafpols) deal with on a regular basis.

King-sized Yorkie bar fell from driver's sausage-sized fingers and now wedged behind accelerator pedal?

Police now trying to melt said choccie bar with welding torch - ask anyone who's ever tried to break a chunk off a Yorkie

Artic thrown the tread from a re-mould?

Most truck tryes are re-moulds especially on the trailers. You often see the carcasses of the re-moulds lying around hard shoulders looking like giant rubber roadkill.
Obviously the BiB can't do much about changing the tyre on an HGV without the proper equipment.

I would think any kind of breakdown involving an HGV must be a pain in the arse, particularly if he couldn't make it to the hard shoulder.

So, waiting for one of those massive recovery trucks, then?

hmmm,

Could be any number of things, the one I would go for is that there is something worng with the trailer, unit or both, or the drivers tacho records have been checked and they are incorrect/incomplete and htey are wating for a recovery vehicle, another driver to move the vehicle.
