Guys, I am wondering if anyone has fitted 'General Grabbers' tyres to a normal non off-road car?

Never heard of them before. My best tyre place (Bracknell Tyres) recommended them - they can't seem to get in stock of anything else.

The Google searches seem to indicate them as a brand for off-road vehicles.

Anyone heard of them used on quick road cars?

I had some Carlos Fandango ones on the back of my Avenger, but that was 25 years ago!

I believe the non-offroad tyres are re-branded Uniroyals or Continentals.

Both General Tires (sic) and Uniroyal are part of the Continental group.

Hmm... so, the question is, are they any good?

Odd recommendation. They are a respected 4x4 tyre.

They make an All-Terrain (AT) and an Ultra High Performance (UHP) version. If your car never ventures off road I struggle to see why they have been recommended, unless they now make a new version that I haven't heard of.

YOUrrr having a barff , I think they are crossply tires, as my mate put a set on and they did what they say on the tin, grabbed every painted line, smooth bit of felt, any imperfection in fact, its the ones they use in the films to sweeeeeck in carpark shots,
The handling, worse than the efffect of 20 pints
