6th Gear looking for additional Southern venue..anyone help?

If anyone knows of a large disused airfield or similar located in the South be very grateful if you could let me know.. The test track at Longcross, Surrey where we operate from now is superb, but so popular we need somewhere else. Dunsfold, North Weald etc no capacity unfortunately.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved. Thanks!

On a different note Murcielago SG54 had new LP640 rear lights fitted today looks superb

Can't help with the venue I'm afraid, but any excuse...do you have any pics of SG54 with the new lights? Still one of my favourite pics is this of your car when we met at a Lambo day at Oulton Park probably early 2005.

I too can't help you with anything in the south of England but wanted to ask if you have ever considered coming to Northern Ireland for a weekend?

Have you tried any of the places MSE use for their track days?

That's mostly disused (and sometimes occasionally used) airfields.

at the danger of a slight thread hijack, does anyone know if you can do trackdays at longcross? It is far closer to me than almost any other venue!

Prodrive have a track at their facility that I believe they let driver development companies use - might be worth a try?

No, the track is not suitable for track days.

I'm suprised you can't get Longcross more often Simon, the don't appear to be too busy over there at the moment

I've done a few trackdays there, they definetley rent it out. They could be open to a regular weekly booking?

Manston? Its an operational airfield but apparently there have been cars spotted having events there so they may be open to it.

Otherwise it may be worth calling the MOD and asking if they have any disused airfields in the south that you could rent for a trackday as there are quite a few airfields now not in use i know of at least 2 north of london.
