So I've cut it a couple of times, then scarified,fertilised,cut again, scarified again and now about to overseed. Anything to do after the overseed or add to it other than loads of water late at night?

You sown the seed a bit late, especially with the current weather. Grass seed doesn't germinate well at much above 15C. I'd sprinkle a thin layer of fine sifted top soil over the seed and try to keep it moist.

Thought that might be the case, but not the end of the world if it doesn't take as it was only a top up. Thanks for teh avice, will get some top soil, and water every night and see what happens. Must be getting proper old when I'm starting to find this sort of stuff theraputic!

Last year was rubbish, I cant water it, its to big, this year I was determined, Lawnsand in late March, scarify in mid April, spray selective weed killer (for everything else) in May, cut it every 5 days, at the moment it looks like I paid someone.
