How much should one pay for a company to write a CV?
Has anyone used a service like this and what was the outcome?

Never used one, however have had CVs sent to me as serious contenders for a highly technical position, when in fact the CVs looked liked they'd been written by a very drunk Barbara Cartland

What is your profession?

Why do you feel you would benefit from a "professionally" written CV?

In my opinion, a personal CV is much more effective. I can smell a "professionally" written CV a mile away.

£50 - £300 as a general rule of thumb.

Although personally I would say it is not worth it.

In which case I really would not bother.

I have always found that the best way to refine your CV is to write it yourself, and then to pass it around friends and colleagues for comment.

Alternatively post an anonymous version up here and we'll gladly provide comment - seen people do that before with some success.

I'll use scented bright paper too! For another 50 basis points on the first £100k!
