Lane discipline.
Discussion
What is wrong with people? I had one 20 minute drive today, I had three near misses.
1. Little old lady in little s**tbox thing decides she would like to straighten up the roundabout. Only small problem is that I was there too, well, until I braked hard.
2. I am going round a roundabout, some silly fool drives on to the roundabout and nearly goes straight into the side of me - couldn't stay in her own lane.
3. Driving along a two lane road (one way system), and the little old lady decides that her car is in fact a dodgem car and she needs to drive along those funny white lanes which separate our lanes.
What is wrong with people?
Please note, I know I shall score low on the rant front due to a lack of swearing and adequate insults, but I am too hot and bothered right now to care..

Motorways and the A3 are the worst.
I've driven all the way down the A3 from the M25 to tolworth in the inside lane with every other tw in the middle or outside, Middle lane hog's really grate.
M25 at rush hour is faster on the inside lane that any other lane... no one knows lane discipline anymore.

Last night I observed a Honda Concerto get half way around a roundabout, then slam his brakes on and come to halt still on the roundabout. He then put his hazards on and sat there until he decided which exit he wanted to take (which involved using a road atlas), then shut off the hazards and continued on his merry way oblivious to the carnage that was unfolding around him. Even the repeated loud blasts of the fuel tanker that had to perform an emergency stop behind him didn't register.

You know I drive almost everyday and I can remember the last time someone almost hit me.
Maybe that's because I anticipate other road users a bit better?
If I hadn't anticipated their actions we would have crashed. Maybe that's because I anticipate other road users a bit better?

And you may not drive in Suffolk, where old lady/old bloke driving is the norm.

On the M25 just going past the A320 junction, to come off on the A3. I actually spent the entire stretch in the inside lane simply overtaking everybody else looking rather sullen, as the outside lanes were chock full of lane hoggers. First time that's happened to me!
Although on the M4 through Swindon I saw a few great examples of driving. Guy in the inside lane is approaching an entry merge, so indicates right. Car just behind him in the middle lane also indicates right, into my lane. I flash the car out, he flashes the car in the inside lane out (saw the reflection). Once we were past the car merging, all three of us returned to the inside lane clean and promptly with a quick hazards blip to say thanks. Nice moment in what was otherwise a very dull drive.

As much as I anticipte, I see on a daily basis loons deciding either to drive STRAIGHT over a roundabout, cutting me off, or changing lanes.
Bridge of Dee is horrendous, 2 lanes into one, I am normally in the inside lane, and let a couple of those in the outside to pass me, (Beacuse I am good at heart), as the merge ended, still some loon was trying to pass me straddling the centre of the road with oncoming traffic.
Anticiption does help, but does not take into account basic t
ts on our roads.
Don't think some can't spell lane discipline. And not to dwell on the fogs saga, slight mist this morning, on go the bloody rear fogs, "Hello, you can see about a mile ahead"............

I nearly posted a thread about that, I have never seen so many stupid drivers in my life. Massively frustrating having to cross 3 lanes to overtake some f
king retard doing 60 in one of the middle lanes.Edited by Andehh on Friday 4th June 17:28

I must admit it really is great to see 'good' thoughtful driving but this tends to be far and few between.Makes a change from the usual idiot driving we tend to see.I was coming home on the M5/M4 back to Swindon from Western-S-Mare last night and it was getting dark, loads of idiots with no lights on at all! Amongst the people correctly using their lights the non users were almost invisable! Why can people not understand that the use of headlights is not just to 'see' but to 'be seen'?
No wonder DRLs are being introduced next year, also last week on the M4 the lack of vehicles using headlights in rain/poor visability, truely shocking.Maybe 3 points and £60 everytime?
