Hi All

I am busy building a GTR, and have just about finished the panelling. (phew, what a job!)
I ended up doing the double skin the cockpit in carbon fibre because I thought the aluminium may scratch a bit much during use. (I'm a bit of a tart like that).

So, I guess the next job is to fit the wishbones and steering rack, all of which I already.

The question really is about the next bit, the radiator, hoses / tube / fan etc as well as the air con and the brakes.

I could by the kit from Ultima, but thought that I would ask here.......
(Is there an aftermarket radiator/air con etc etc that will fit)

Wiring is also next, but designing automotive electronics and making high end looms it what I do, so should be okay there...
On that point, I have a graphical digital dash that I have made for my ultima and am part way through developing a solid state fuse box / power controller and switch controller. This will massively simplify the wiring diagram and ensure no breakdowns from fuses or shorts etc. So if anybody is interested in any of these two items let me know - they will be done on a COST basis....

Thank you in advance....

Gareth

Ask RADTEC. They produce a fantastic aluminium radiator and is just "plug and play".
Cheers

What's wrong with the kit from Ultima? If you ever wanted to sell your car, non standard parts could put buyers off. However, if like me, you are never going to sell, then go ahead and make it as individual as you like!

Hi

There is nothing wrong with the kit from Ultima, I just want to see what else is available, or if there are any recommended upgrades. If not then I will buy from Ultima..

do not install the wishbones now, you can really do that at the end of your build, if you do so I am sure one day you will remember my post;)

Hi Gareth
Take a look at this thread;
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Get uprated fans I run Pacet 11" they shift twice as much air as the factory ones, as for air con Car Builders do a system, it's close to the factory one so not sure if it's worth the hassle 'going off piste' for that.

Hi

Great! Thanks for the info...

Why should I not install the suspension / wishbones?

They are dead easy to do, can be done at almost any stage and in the mean time will just get in the way.

^x2 ........crazy fitting the sticky out bits to get in the way and cause minor injuries.
Build it as you would a production car re-shell. Panelling first, then all your plumbing, wiring, cabling etc....work from the inside out..makes life much easier.
You only really need wishbones/suspension nearer the end to align them and also final fit the body.

Car Builder Solutions can supply quite a few parts including air con kits.
