Sag body frame broken?

Hello!
I cleaned the interiour today and mentioned, that the frame on the roof between front window and door, falls of!

Whats that???

I could not see whats the problem exactly, as the whole frame is leather covered there and I could not find something about that in Grahams workshoü manual.

Please give me some advice!

Do you have a photograph of the part which is broken?
From your post, I'm assuming that the welding has failed on the roll cage and a section has come detached?

Not hugely helpful, but if the welding on the roll cage has failed I would be quite concerned!

How much inspection was done on the cage welding at the factory and was / should it have been certified? Or is that only competition cages?

The bar that goes along the top of the drop glass is a bolt in section between the front and rear hoops . If you think that is poor you have to take into account that the front hoop is in two halfs joined above the rear view mirror with some devcon glue ( same as used on the headlamps ) and a self tapper !

So are you saying the actual roll hoop metal parts fall apart when pulled, or the plastic/leather trim covering them falls off?

The bolt in section I can live with, but can you describe the join in the front in more detail? surely it is at least sleeved?

I feel somewhat less 'smug' about the rollcage now!

hi guys!
So how should I proceed, how can I remove the leather without damaging it? If its only bolted and the bolt is broken, it's not a big problem for me...

I'm an absolute newbee with TVRs and only a bit talented in "bolting" and scrubbing!
