Went to a "prestige" car seller just up the road from me last Sunday monring while he was bringing out some cars. He had a few nice cars there, a M3 CSL, TVR Chim, Evo IX, a few Porsche's, a Bentley (which had WNK as part of the Reg hehe ) as well as others.

While looking around I saw a bright yellow car in the garage, couldn't make out what it was but could see from the shape, wide tyres and the racing spoiler it was something special.

Had a brief word with the guy that runs the place and He told me it was an Ultima. I never actually seen one before and didn't know much about it so started asking questions about it. He told me it had a V8 in it and could go faster than 200mph...

Now, I know they are very fast cars, but can they really break 200mph?

Its probably been discussed before, but that ultima must have been on slicks - the FXX was when it set it's time.

nah they did the ultima lap time on a fully road-legal setup. they even drove the car to and from the track.

you can build your own for around £60k i think, which is cheap for the performance you will get

Doesn't an Ultima hold the 0-200-0 record?

The above (hopefully true facts) are quite impressive and must be for only Ultimas on your side of the pond. I won't name names (but steve knows who I am referring to) but there is this guy down the street from me who has an Ultima that can't match the above facts. In the last year (really more than a year but I'm trying to be nice) it could only make it from the front of his house to the back shop one or two times (and he bugs me about having 3 TVRs at our house and their reliability)So I've had some carpet pieces come unglued and some minor grounding faults and I have contributed to several college funds (all over Canada and the USA.)We may have some minor faults with our 3 TVRs but the music from the exhausts really balances it all out. I suspect that my buddy down the street gets more seat time in his Ultima than my Spousal Unit, myself, and our daughter get combined in our 3 cars per month. By the way Clive buddy down my street, tomorrow on the 5th, it may not be Le Mans but the Three Hills car show is on and after I get back from the shop (yes, getting a minor repair) we are going up to view the cars that are entered. Cumming???????????

I had a BMW salesman tell me he got overtaken by one early on a Sunday morning on an empty stretch of the M25. He was doing 170mph and apparently the Ultima 'went flying past, probably doing over 270mph'. So yes, they're very fast.hehe
