What stainless exhaust and/or induction for Mk2.
Discussion
Have been driving around in my new Mk2 10AE for the past week and in nearly every way it's a much better car than my previous Mk1 Merlot. Very pleased with the purchase.
However...
It doesn't feel as 'zingy' and it doesn't have the same sense that you're doing 100mph when in reality you're doing 50mph. It feels a bit grown up!
Trying to put my finger on why exactly this is, and I can't fathom it. The 10AE is tighter and much better/flatter when taking corners, it's just as quick (if not a bit better off the line thanks to the 6 speed), it's slightly lower to the ground than the Merlot and the seats hold you tighter.
I've come to the conclusion that it must be the noise it makes. My Merlot had a stainless system which made quite a nice noise, especally when you were pressing on - my 10AE has the standard exhaust which makes the car sound like a hairdryer set to 'low'.
So
Is it worth looking at an induction setup as these will obviously be cheaper than an exhaust system?
What stainless system would Mk2 owners recommend? I'd like it to look standardish from the back (No dual, twin or centre exits please) and don't want something too loud or that drones.
TIA

Drill your airbox.. Seriously!
It makes it sound alot more throaty, and if you do them in the bottom it can't be seen so the kids down McDonalds won't think your one of them.
The exhaust I agree, I need one that sounds better, but I suppose Mazda had to design it for everyone, not just us petrolheads.
