Good afternoon,il make this as easy as possible! My grandfather passed away recently and the time has come to sell his car. It's a BMW 740i N with full cream leather/TV/CD/Car Phone,Dark blue colour... it has most of the options, don't think it's taxed but it has been MOT'd recently, also has a private plate. What do you guys think it's worth? Is anyone intrested? Any help is much appreciated

Hi

First 740i on an N plate comes up at £1595 from a private seller with 125K miles on Autotrader currently. The Cheapest E38 7 series are starting at around £1000.
A few others -
99 T plate, 85K miles £3000 trade seller,
98 R plate, 145K miles £1650 Trade Seller,
96 N plate, 147K Miles, £1695 Trade Seller,
96 P Plate, 129K miles, £1795, Private Seller

If your's is clean, perhaps an average or low miler, well maintained with good service history - then it appears it'll sell 'quickly' for around £1500-1600. Higher miles, patchy history etc £1250+

Cheers, Dennis

I suspect those early cars advertised above will be for sale for a while. These dont make much more than a few hundred quid in the trade now, and few people want them unless they are cared for examples with a good history.

Hiya

At that low miles, and with one owner, I'd suggest getting it nicely valeted, then advertised in the BMW Car magazine, on E38 specific sections of forums to see if you can get maxmimum money for it. If as I say, it's been well looked after I think one of the 7 series enthusiasts will snap it up.

A lovely car though, uncle in New York had the L version of this car and it was fantastic on a lovely cruise from Long Island to Boston one time!

Good luck with the sale !

cheers, Dennis

Ha I've dropped it now after looking at others smile Annoying this I can't advertise it in many forums as if your a new user you need 100 posts to post a for sale thread! Lol

Have you considered selling to either of these guys - they might be intersted if the car is clean/low mileage
