Front Wishbones

Hi All.
Looking at various rebuilds on the forum I see there are two types of front top and bottom wishbones, is this an upgrade from one type to another or TVR just changed it for no reason.
I have the type that has a bend just before it bolts on to the frame. Don't know if one is better than the other. any thoughts on this.

The other type has straight tubes as fitted to the V8S / S4.

These give the car 20mm or so wider track - the V8S / S4 rear trailing arms are also slightly longer to give wider track at the rear.
