Hi all,
Advise need pleaee.
In the last couple of days, my car (2.5, 2002)has had an irratic misfire, this can happen at low revs or high revs, its very random, & seems to happen when i'm turning right.
I've read on this forum about the wiring to the fuel pump being shoddy, could this be my problem?
Where should I start looking to source the problem.

I put £30 in beforehand each day & the fuel gauge goes up to the full mark, but i think it's only half full (i put fuel in when the needle is between 0 & the 1/4 mark).
Whats your theory?
Cheers

Early cars run out of fuel as the gauge reads zero, your feeling the fuel sloshing about when it's low, always keep more than 20 litres in.

Right then!
filled the tank up with Vpower, & just pootling around, using no boost at all, the car stuttered in first gear, then cleared & on I went.
Just been out for a good drive for an hour or so & no problems at all.
Is there anything I should check (pipes, wiring etc)?
I'd like to get to the bottom of this.
Cheers
Jay

This is doing my head in now!!
Just filled up again, & everything was fine for 20mins of normal town driving, then turning hard right at low speed, the engine dipped, then came back again.
Nothing else happened for an hour of so, but when almost home, I accelerated & the car just stuttered under boost & i backed off. It did this twice in a row & then I got home & parked her in the garage
Any ideas??

Sorry Jay but the only thing to do is start changing stuff until you sort it , first thing i would do is plugs ,then fuel filter, pump and pipe work ,check all you wireing ect ,std fuel system is a very poor design so after plugs its were i would go next !!

Don't know, the engine was rebuilt and upgraded by Noble Motorsport 5 years ago, how do I check the ecu?

& so the story goes......
after my recent incident where all power was lost when boost came on, i decided today to try & make some notes of what revs, what the boost gauge says etc, in a hope that i can locate the problem.I checked the plugs (only done 2500miles), checked all the hoses & pipework, all connectors that I can reach etc.
The car started fine, idled fine & i drove for 15/20mins to warm everything up.
As soon as I put my foot down abit, the whooshing started, then COUGH!!!, no power, backed off, & everything was ok.
Thought to myself..poo this!! & started to head home.
On a stretch of road, with no traffic behind, i thought i'd try again & note the boost gauge reading.
OHH MY GOD!!!! i was expecting a cough, but everything cleared & she took off like a rocket!!! I love my car!!
Tried a few times from low revs with my foot planted & nothing, no coughs, just a mad surge of power. All cleared up???
I got home, stuck her in the garage & opened the rear clam.
the only thing I though was odd, was a very small dribble of oil at the opening of the dump valve (its a bailey motorsport item). Is this normal??
Now she is fine & i can't wait to drive it again!
Any thoughts??
