Howdy! New prospective elise s1 buyer here...

Just wondering whether anyone knows of any specific luggage you can buy that can maximise the elise s1 boot space.

Any answers would be gratefully received.

Cheers, Matt

Yes, try black bin liners!
Had two weeks in the south of France a couple of years ago in my mrk 1 with a friend, so need to take loads of clothes etc. etc. Use anything very soft that will squash up underneath the (small) opening. You will be amazed what can actually be squeezed in! Just make sure you have things like wash kit on the top for quick access. Large plastic bags are great - forget cases, and remember you have that handy space behind the seats!

Bell & Colvill had some leather stuff in their print ads once - not sure if it was for the Elise or Esprit tho.

Just searching the archives for 'luggage' and saw this thread from April.

With quite a few weekends away lined up over the next few months, I was having a look around for some 'squashable' luggage (as opposed to the usual plastic bags!) and I found this link: www.jazbags.com/NewFiles/LOTPIC1.html

... but as you'll see, the 4 piece set is £250, which is a tad steep. Anyone know of alternatives aimed at Elise drivers?

I use waterproof stuff sacks, the kind you buy from outdoor stores . . . We've done 3 weeks camping/touring round France/Italy/Spain in the Elise, full camping gear, cooking gear, etc . . .

Its amazing how much you can actually fit in the car with a little forethough on packing.

Soft bags are a must, for both the boot and inside. The passenger footwell will take a decent sized bag, with the passengers feet on top (suprisingly comfy for long journeys).

1 big holdall and a couple of smaller bags [suitcarrier at a squeeze] - THIS CAR WAS NEVER REALLY GOING TO BE PRACTICAL BUT AT LEAST YOU CAN REMOVE THE ROOF AND HAVE STUFF IN THE BOOT!

Stuff sacks sound like a winner then - maybe with the money I save buying these instead of the 'elise luggage' I should buy my wife a travel iron!
