cooling issues - blower not really blowing!

2005 T350. Air con been re gassed and drops air temp to 16c on thermometer inside vent but it cant keep the cab cool at all. I'm sure last year the fans really blew as had no issues with keeping cool / cold during the summer. Anyone having similar issues?

I had the same in my Sag on way back from Duxford a couple of weeks ago...now this may sound completely silly and im sure yll say, bloody idiot but i was driving along with air con on and next to no air flow from my drivers vent to left of steering wheel. So i simply shut off the passengers one and then it all of a sudden blew tons of it out. I couldnt quite undertand why one there is nothing on flat out level, then just shutting one vent would make such a massive difference in a flow. Its only one bloody vent!!!! My fan is massively more efficiant on one vent only.

Tried that! Didnt make much difference, and closed all the flaps in foot wells too. Adjusted the Flap Zero settings from 16 to 26 as have been informed that that can help optimize cool air but still remember last year it was blowing harder.. le mans next week and thinking it could be hot

Two things

1. You may still have an issue with the aircon. Just regassing it won't fix something like a leak.
2. If you can't cool the car then it may be the 'normal' air vents putting too much heat into the cockpit and overwhelming the cooler vents. Mine was always reasonably chilly and the normal vents would change between cool/hot on the dial. I noticed in the past month or so that I only get hot air from the windscreen vents. People on here said it may be loose/broken flaps in the blower unit (under the sealed section on the passenger side of the engine bat). My car is in for service at the moment and this is on the list of things to look at.

thanks for that. checked that all vents are blowing cool air - no hot air at all. Will take her down to a local air con specialist tomorrow. I hope its just a defective blower

The heater amplifier may of over heated, My TVR started to blow less cool air over the weekend with aircon and and have been told it may be this if the airflow has slowed down, More info in grahams manual.

thanks for that advise; my first port of call was Grahams web pages but i dont have a hard copy of the entire manual to hand. I'm not a mechanic so i'll pass this info on to someone who is. Many thanks
