Does anyone happen to know if the Great White that they use on this show was killed for the show?

I saw a bit of the first one of the last series, the Elephant, and they said all the animals died of natural causes.

As above....do you really think they'd kill a shark for a show like this????

Yep, I saw the elephant and the giraff and they all died of natural causes, BUT I am struggling to see how they can get a Great White which died of natural causes - they are not in captivity as adults unless I am mistaken.

So that is my concern, IF they killed a shark, even if it was a "hunter" fish, I won't be watching it. Hence my question really.

Going on the photo in this page http://www.channel4.com/programmes/inside-natures-...

It looks like it's been dead a while, washed up maybe, hit by a boat or died from injuries sustained even. I guess they waited for a call then rushed to where it was held, it could easily have been held on ice until they got there.

Yes, that is what I thought they said as well, though I was very upset to hear that she appeared to have thrown up her stomach in the panic of it - poor girl.

What did they find inside, a few fish, a tin can and a Florida car number plate?

I hope that this show makes people more interested in the conservation of sharks.

Script needed some work...Vet man pretending to be shocked that Great Whites are not cold blooded (had he never seen Shark Week?) and the same old "people think these are killers that eat anything in their way yada, yada" .... its not 1985 anymore....we get the idea!

Agreed. One day I hope to be able to dive with one. And I pray that something is done to stop the wholesale slaughter of sharks.

Indeed.

Shocking statistics when compared with Tiger numbers. Zero publicity about the reduction in shark numbers compared with other endangered species.
