Just watching a program about the Earth's atmosphere and they are flying in the South African Lightning, thought it might interest some in here.

Edit: The lightning only appeared briefly, maybe 5 minutes or so.

Yes it was.

Dr Stewart was being flown by late Dave Stock in ZU-BEX (XS451) with a camerman being flown in sistership T.5 ZU-BBD (XS452) flown by Ian Black, who had been the last pilot to be trained by the RAF to fly the Lightning.

brilliant footage on that programme for ages before it descended into the usual "Climate Change is my fault 'cos I have sugar in my porridge and drive a car" type nonsense

How did it end?

Is it still my fault?

The Lightning portion was simply awesome to watch, very few people in my life have inspired jealousy, that Scotsman just joined an exclusive club...

The guy flying the Lightning in the documentary was the chap who was kill in the crash.

Great clip and must be out of this world to fly in such an aircraft.
