The cooler itself is just a standard off-the-shelf Mocal - should be fairly easy to either get a new Mocal or Setrab cooler that will fit perfectly. The only tricky bit will be to get a cooler with the proper fittings on it - I don't remember if they're a standard 37 degree JIC fitting, or a hydraulic type fitting...

R&R'ing it is simple. Remove the front clam (you may be able to get by without removing the clam, but it's a lot easier with the clam off. Given how easy it is to remove the clam, there really isn't any reason not to.), and you'll be able to get a wrench (spanner) straight onto the fittings. Pop off the fittings and plug the lines so you don't get p/s fluid all over the place. Remove the screws holding down the cooler next to the tow hook. On the outside edge of the cooler, access to the hold down screws may be tight. If you can't get to them, remove the two bolts that run through the floorpan, through the spacer bar that the cooler is mounted to, and slide out the whole mess until you can remove the cooler from the bar. Installation is the opposite. After everything is back together, fill and bleed the power steering system.

While you have the cooler out, be sure to check both hoses running to the cooler to make sure that they're in good condition, not deteriorated or cracking.

Are you sure its not your hoses instead of the cooler, Mine were in a real bad way,
-6 Simon and its a Mocal slighlty smaller than the gearbox cooler, Think shouls have one.

I done a post on the hoses somewhere.

I was looking at mine yesterday and the hoses look bad so I checked carefully for leaks as seems to be a lot of oily grime around the general area.

I undid mine and they were not difficult at all... also there was a 100mm or so slack in the line so you might be able to just fit a push fit union and cut the hose onto it!
