New car thoughts

Looking for some views on a possible replacement car, budget up to £6K, preferably 4 seats.
Currently I run a 1998 2.8 Z3 and before that a FWD Lotus Elan, its used as a second car but I run it to work everyday (2 mile commute) with occasional 10 mile journeys during work. Its been a long hard winter in Scotland with a canvas roof and I have considered getting a hard top but I'm in the process of changing my job which will be a train commute most days but occasional journeys of 50+ miles.
I've consisdered the following as I would ideally like to get something a bit more modern-

Mini Cooper S (is it too girly)
Renault Clio Trophy (is it a bit dated looking)
Audi TT 225 (on my budget it will be a 1999 so still an old car)
Mazda RX8 (although I'm not doing too many miles will the fuel/ oil consumption start to annoy me)
Subaru Impreza WRX Newage model (had one of these previously but I'm not sure about the image now)
Renault Megane 225 (I'm not too keen on the shape and I don't know if it will age very well)

Have I missed anything else?
