Just wanted to post up about my latest trip with the LS2.

I visited my parents last weeekend, about 150 miles each way with about 50 miles of 'playful' driving with the relatives.

The weather was pretty warm and the traffic was mixed. Lots of roadworks on the m1 and m25. Speeds were between 50 and 85mph. One stop made at Toddington Services much to the delight of a mini bus full of french students and a couple of other passers by. Lots of photos and chatter.
A 10 minute wee break turns into nearly half an hour.

The journey on the way back was pretty uneventful, traffic flowed much better and where there were no roadworks 'a nice cruising speed' was kept up for a pretty good distance.

When i filled back up the next day, I worked out that i was getting 26.5 mpg.

Not bad for a 6 litre 500bhp car. Think i lost about half a gallon on the filler pipe neck which was leaking when fully filled.(now sorted).

Yep, the economy is a unexpected benefit of a standard LS2/3, I figured I was getting around 28mpg while cruising down to MK from Birmingham in relatively heavy traffic e.g. I couldn't go above 80mph.
