Just listed my iPhone box on the bay with headphones and mains charger. Sold within an hour for £25!! The guy who bought it had bought several iPhones in the last couple of week, I'm guessing that if it comes with a box he can sell them on for more than the cost of the box to him!
Any other unlikely ebay successes??

(Mods, this is to promote discussion about ebay, please don't move to C,G&S)

How odd...the serial numbers wouldn't match...although once he's sold it I doubt he's bothered once they've sold!

What made you list it in the first place?!

Cheers

Damn, just chucked two iphone boxes out a couple of weeks ago. If only I'd known.

Its amazing how much some apparently worthless stuff can sell for on ebay. A few years ago I sold a 5 year old espresso maker that was way past its best. Sold for more than the exact same model would cost brand new in John Lewis.

I sold a set of manky old fag stained wardrobes that were left in the house when we bought it for £37 once.

My missus said I wouldn't be able to give them away! Saved me a trip to the tip too!!

The people who bought it would probably have been really annoyed to find out it stank though!

The advert made the condition perfectly clear. I just used lines like 'should clean up like new with a bit of elbow grease'!

They never said a thing when they loaded it into the van and handed over a pile of cash!

If you want to sell any decent tech stuff, they always sell better with boxes, instructions and additional extra bits and pieces.

Especially in those 'echange' shops in town.

Always keep the packaging om this stuff!!!

I sold a brochure for the UK Nissan GTR (the R34) for about £25. Cost me nothing!

3 Nintendo Game & Watch games I'd bought at an airport, played once and then put in a drawer for 15 years - £250.

Few years ago a mate at work sold one of the Now! compilation CDs on Ebay (Now4 IIRC, the first to come out on the new-fangled CD format anyway). Went for something stupid like £300. Mate was well chuffed as you can imagine.

A few days later though he was fuming. The buyer had sent a bunch of irate emails, calling him a fraudster and a cheat and demanding his money back. Dispute raised with PP etc.

Seems my mate had substituted the original scratched & hazy jewel case with a nice shiny new one. Thought he was doing the bloke a favour. Turns out the CD was almost worthless without its original jewel case. Luckily he still had it and posted it on, so peace was restored.

£300 for a CD case. Funny old world, collecting...

I sold off some of my car brochure collection a year or so ago. Best result was selling an orginal, hardback Porsche 993, 911 Turbo brochure for £70 to a bloke in Sweden. Cost me nothing.

I saw a Tiffany carrier bag go for £30. ¨Designer¨ bags sell for a small fortune.

You can buy a mug and get a whacking great bag for £20. I sense some shopping coming on.
