I'm thinking about taking some clients to a PalmerSport day.

Little bit hesitant about booking a day in case the weather doesn't cooperate.

Any first hand experience? Do these days actually 'book out' or would I be better to wait until a week before the day to commit funds?

It's a great day out. Not sure about 'booking out' from a corporate viewpoint, although the one my wife privately and I went on was almost full. It will defintitely earn you brownie points with any clients!

The only thing I would say is that, to get the best out of it, you need to try and get a feel for the layout of the circuits before you start driving as the car time, whilst great, goes very quickly and by the time you know the course, it's time to come back in. Haven't tried the new M3s (we had the XKRs) but they sound fab.

Have a good one!

Awesome day - you'll love it - regardless of the weather.

No other driving experience day is so packed, full on, non rev limited etc etc etc.

my wife was going to come, but she's a bit worried about the intensity ( and any associated pressure )... would we be able to ride together in most of the cars? i.e. do they let you take a passenger?

I've taken my car there a few times, so know the track well... figure if she can ride with me for a few laps and then we switch over to her driving - then she'll have the confidence of seeing my laps first hand.

Great fun - pretty much the best corporate entertainment I've ever had.

Great instructors and a nice selection of cars to try.

Its a fantastic day out for all levels. They book up well in advance so you need to commit. Even novice drivers will get a buzz. The only problem for me is now everything else is just no where near as good.

The instructors are great, they will cotton on to driver ability and confidence pretty quickly. Fantastic day out, do it.

Nope, in each case she will be driving with an instructor, the only time you'll be in car without one will be for karts and single seaters - so no passengers there!

Doing the GT track in your own car will help but bear in mind that the circuit is divided up into four smaller ones for the corporate events so it will look pretty different.

I am going with a group in mid July and can't wait ( we've spaces if anyone wants to join us)

Been before and it suits all abilities; mostly due to the great instructors.

Very slick day and great fun...... hopefully I can master the caterham doughnuts this year

I did it last month and it was fantastic. Lots of different cars, very good instructors who spend the whole time saying 'more power' and everything is very professional. None of the kill-joy 3 laps you appear to get in a lot of driving 'experiences'. I was lucky enough to have great weather, though.

ETA - There were 67 people when I did it (and yes, there are loads of cars to go round - the fleet is huge).

I did it quite a while ago, when they had the Honda Accord Type R's, great day out and they looked after us well. I came 14th overall on the day, out of about 40 I think!

AMAZING day. Wet or dry... have takem hundreds of clients and friends over the years. NEVER had a single complaint. EVERYONE of all different driving abilities has LOVED it.

SERIOUSLY slick and very professionally run.

This year is the best EVER! I did a little thread on it

No, she will be out on her own with her own instructor. You cannot take any passengers... and nor would you WANT to! You will be tooo busy chasing laptimes on track wink

The instructors are all great. They put EVERYONE at ease... and I have taken some REAL numpty and novice drivers (both men and women)

FYI thats a SCORING and TIMED event this year!!!!!

so don't clown around like I did thinking it doesnt count like in previous years, as it seriously hurts your chance of getting a good overall position!
