Hi,

I have a megane r26 f1 with a remap to 265bhp,
I have heard rumours that there is a 'hidden' launch control within the technology for the traction control and slip diff? However when I attempt it, it seems to cut the power almost all together then build back up?

here's what I do :-

1. Build revs to about 3500
2. Get close to the biting point
3. Drop the handbrake and clutch at the same time

Am I doing something wrong and quite possibly pretty stupid?

Don't think it is hidden, just a revised program on the ESP-traction control system, so that the max possible amount of torque is applied to the wheels without spinning. 4k rpm drop the clutch and it will use the diff and esp to get you the best launch rather than trying to stop wheel spin and kill power.

In an r26, not exactly, but gotta try and defends the r26 reputation against my mates 350z!

I've been able to do it a few times but for the amount of times I've tried its proving to be quite difficult yeah!

Just out of curiosity, how does the car feel with the added power? I've mulled over a remap before but wasn't sure if it was worth the insurance hike.

Nothing to add, only to ask if pics of your R26 can be posted?

Reason: Love the R26 yum

One day I shall claim ownership of one, one day... Guess I'll have to get my finger out and start saving (which I'm not famous for frown).

I love it, I notice the difference! I got a flashdrive box from rs tuning so I can reset it, incase of police attention and MOT's and stuff!

I will post some photo's as soon as I have a decent ones! The guy who I bought it from was supposed to send me some professional ones of it beside a yellow Lambo, unfortunately he never did!

Did you steal the "tuning box"? they aren't illegal so why would the police be bothered?

in that case you are an idiot.

if you can afford modifications, then you can afford the increase in premiums.

so they have your reg and type of car, and confession that you've modified your car and not informed the insurers.
You do know that Adrain Flux has a rep that helps with questions on this forum?
and various BiB contribute?
