Tuscan S drivers

In fact maybe its TVR drivers in general...
On my way to my office I come across a Tuscan S (maybe the guy visits this site? - the reg has 555 in it)
Anyway I'm not sure if TVRs are dificult to drive or it is just the mind set of the people who have them - but after every lull in traffic or at junctions this guy nails the throttle then has to back off big time or brake to avoid hitting other traffic in the rear.
It wouldn't be so bad if he actually overtook and got on with it - but this chap just seems to delight in proving his monster power TVR accelerates quicker than everyone elses shopping car.

I must admit thinking about it I have done this for the only reason I love the sound of the exhaust when excellerating in first throught the revs and in slow moving traffic you get to do it more often its not to show off or to intimidate at all I can see how it could piss some people off....

I think the thread should read Tuscan S Driv'er' rather then Tuscan S Driver's'....
To be honest I come across worse BMW/TT drivers rather then fellow TVR's....a TVR gets more noticed as its probably the only one on the road at that time!

I do the same in the Cerb; don't like changing gear too much in traffic/holding it on the clutch, so I'll wait for a bit of a gap to form and floor it for a bit. It keeps me amused, sounds fantastic, and isn't done for anyone's benefit other than my own. Had never wondered what other people were thinking.

same with most performance engines i think
i find myself slipping the clutch a lot on mine, but they are more expensive ans consumed more easily on tuscans i believe

I never see a TVR on the way to work.
I used to pass 2 DB7s on the way to work every morning back in Leeds. There was no better incentive to put in a full day's effort than the thought of one day driving to work in an Aston.

For the last 2 weeks, almost every day I've seen some new Jags (look similar to S Types?) on trade plates with the black "disguise tape" all over them....

Mine has good days and bad days
On a good day, in traffic, I let it crawl along with minimal throttle and let a bit of space form ahead - that way I can keep rolling more often than not. But boy does it wind up a good proportion of drivers behind - most notably Golfs: why is that?
I have no intention of letting my foot slip and punting the guy ahead up the backside just for squeezing up when the average speed is below 5mph!beano500 said:

Agreed, I also creep forward and keep a gap ahead only because I can't keep coming on and off the type of clutch pedal a TVR/Tuscan has...but people don't know/understand this...so get frustrated.
I came across one of those Seat Leons while driving at 70-ish in the outside line of the M25 the other day...I was just following heavy traffic...so this driver in the Leon sees me while he is in the middle lane although he is way ahead and has ample time to move into the outside lane ahead of me but is clearly happy in the middle lane...but as soon as I pass him he turns 'sharpish' into the outside land and sits on my rear end. Then decides to boot it weaving in and out of traffic across 3 lanes at 'speed' before turning at the last minute onto a slip road. Now this guy was driving along quite sedately in the middle lane way ahead of me until I come along and he clearly has something to prove in the presence of a TVR....can't understand some drivers! lol Alan.

Think it's a TVR thing... in heavy traffic I leave space in front of the S... perhaps it's the agressive clutch / cooling worries... or just common sense?

Probably Mungo proving to you just how slow your car really is.
I'm not claiming I'm a good driver, but I have the feeling that people who do a lot of miles and traffic ... and don't have an automatic, leave space in front. Seems smarter to me ...
In that case, if the guy in front of me stalls for an hour or so, I can overtake him.
Only if it's a TVR, to prove I'm faster!
