Well my RS was collected a few minutes ago to have the MOT done and will be back later this afternoon with its new certificate ... or not. Hopefully it won't need too much done as its covered less than 1,000 miles since the last one, but I'm a bit dubious about those sills. If expensive work is needed, it'll have to be SORNed until such time as my finances pick up. If ever.

Anybody else find MOT time so traumatic?

Phew, you think that's bad, I'm dropping the Maser off for a set of hydraulic tappets (just one side), a potential clutch and the annual service next week. I'll be lucky if I see change from £5k. cry

I used to worry about MOTs, but then I found a good garage. wink

Just been told that the rear sills need doing as suspected. Plus a chassis member has been flattened by being jacked up in the wrong place! £200 + VAT for the whole lot, ready in a couple of days - so not as bad as I thought!

How do they fix the chassis member (I assume that's one of the 2 long rectangular box sections that run fron tto back?), do they replace or pull it out, my car has one flattened that has been like that since i got it, passed the MOT with it fine but it's just bugging me!
