Hey guys,

posting on here since the csl area's a bit quiet!

the CSL's front offside wheel is making a clicking noise. Thinking it might be a wheel bearing but wdv expected that to be more of a rumble. More noticeable turning left but still present on dead ahead. Steering rack joint?? By the way, no it's not a stone stuck in the cups!

you could jack the car up and give the wheel a good push and a pull, There should'nt be any play.

It was more of a drilling knock on mine tho and it turned out i needed a new wishbone because the seal had gone.

just a thought - I ain't no mechanic like.

I've had a wheel bearing fail with a click and no rumble, i'd say thats defiantely a good place to start your investigations.

Also don't discount the stone in the brake disc, they can cause some real wierd noises

Thanks

Matt

I have the same problem, see here:

If you do get yours looked at it would be great if you could let us know the outcome.

Thanks

Have you checked the wheel nuts are properly tightened?

(Sorry this probably sounds like a patronisingly stupid suggestion, but I drove a car a few weeks ago with a clicking front wheel and it turned out that the last muppet to change a wheel hadn't tightened the nuts fully).

I've had a wheel bearing click. Usually means it's missed the rumbling phase and jumped straight to the 'broken bits of metal' clicking noise.

If you've got a CSL mate you should have taken it straight to your specialist right away.
