Having heard the new CS and a tubi'd 355 & 360 exhaust note, I am mad keen to sort out something similar for my 360..... Manu at Scuderia offered to ship a tubi silencer to a recommended garage here in Scotland who would fit it, because the dealer wouldn't.

Dealer is talking alot of invalidation of warranty etc. although it was the dealer who showed me the damn things on another customers car!

Are there any products out there that won't be a pain in the arse later on if I need the dealer support/servicing? Is there anyway of getting my local dealer to turn a blind eye?

Somebody must have had this problem with the amount of Tubi'd cars on this site!

Most dealers don't mind them, in fact i believe the tubi is a dealer fit option in the states.

I depends on your dealer. I've just had a Tubi fitted on my 575M and had no problems with them fitting it. Of course, I was buying the car of them at the time so that may have had a bearing on their decision.

So does it, or doesn't it invalidate your warranty ?

What about removing the cats ?

It should not invalidate your warranty.removing the cats will mean your car will probably fail an emissions test/mot. When you fit a tubi i believe you still keep the original exhausts so if any real problems occur just put the original exhausts back

Got my 355 tubi decatted, by Graypaul. It does not invalidate your warranty, although this is still a slightly muddy area. Basically, it will invalidate your exhaust warranty (Used cars under Formula or Power warranties do not cover exhaust and ancillary systems anyway, only for 3 months under the goodwill charter). But as you are changing your exhaust, it wont matter.

Put it this way, from all the people I have spoken to, I dont believe Ferrari have referred or refused a warranty claim due to aftermarket exhaust systems, especially tubi as IIRC they are suppliers for certain Ferraris anyway.

Speak to your Ferrari dealer principle, I'm sure they will confirm that it doesn't invalidate the warranty. These things help sell Ferraris, Ferrari know it and dont want to upset the balance. Officially dealers might have been told to hold the stance that they are not good for your warranty, but that seems to be bullshit. My 355 needed new airpump, and new shocks on the rear. All resolved with any issue.

good luck

Mudfish, as regards to the TUBI, speak to John Cherry at GLENVARIGIL FERRARI, he is a very helpful chap and I am sure will be able to help..

Well there's just no fing way I'm keeping any of my cars stock, so you can just stuff that one right now. You occasionally hear this official line crap about any modification violating your warranty, including sports exhausts, but in practice it doesn't wash. Over the years I've had warranty work done on three different cars now, all 'enhanced', and with no problems whatsoever. And you'd have to be bloody deaf not to notice. The dealers well know they're on a hiding to nothing trying to legally enforce this view: they would 1) lose and 2) get a whole shitpile of bad press. Especially when a good proportion of the owners have a few quid and penchant for a ruck.

Warranties and aftermarket parts are indeed very gray areas, of course something totally unaffected by the modification will not be affected in the slightest i.e. like Ali's issues, or say change your wheels & you may invalidate any future claim on suspension issues, but it will hardly affect you if your electric windows pack up, however if you have an engine problem-say for example burnt out some exhaust valves & have an aftermarket exhaust fitted- well that is indeed shakey ground & thus in the hands of solicitors & subject to independant engineers reports etc etc.

Tubi & Ferrari may well be a slightly different issue given how close they are and fitted to top Ferrari execs cars etc etc, and in truth I cant see a claim having much strength for exhaust mods on a Ferrari, however on Germanic wagons I do know of engine warranty claims rejected (and thus the owner has had to fork out to re-build the engine out of his own pocket) when it has been proven the car has been chipped & bike manufacturers not paying out over exhaust changes.

What I feel is ironic here is that by fitting a tubi to a 355 the manifold temperatures are reduced due to improved flow characteristics and hence the old 355 manifold cracking issue is significantly reduced. This is therefore a benefit to the car and goes some way to resolving this issue.

I would fit one and be dammed. Cant see how the dealers would be able, or even want to, make a big issue of this. My experience is similar to others on this thread that warranty work will still be honoured by the dealer.
