My warranty on the M6 is about to expire and I just wanted to compare quotes.

My car: 55plate, 33k miles

Quote: £951, 0 excess, european full emergency assistance, comprehensive (so drivetrain, engine and electronics)

I am also under the understanding that they do not match the exact same warranty I had from the dealer.

I hear the warranty goes up a lot once the car is over 50-60k miles and seem to think it's usually in the region of £800 p.a.

So this is on the steep side in my understanding. If other car owners tell me it's not, then it's not, but just wanted to check before pulling the trigger. thanks smile

Exactly the same rate, for the same cover as my '06 Z4MC - which is strange considering I've got 'basic' engine, gearbox & suspension.

All M cars are the same warranty cost (and X5 also about the same) I think. Price is correct for zero excess (same as my CSL renewal in January). You can drop the cost by about £100 by taking £100 excess (or £250 for £250) but you'll be pissed off if you make 2 claims in a year! Trick when approaching 60k is to move to monthly payment as once you're on that scheme they don't check (which others have confirmed). It is slightly more than annual payment obviously but a lot cheaper than the > 60k price (about £2.5k IIRC).

Cool! thanks for the replies. so according to some, I am getting a bargain. That's all I wanted to tcheck really. Cheers again

edited to add about the excess:
I asked how much it would be with £100 excess and the difference was less than £100, so one claim per year would totally negate the saving.

For an M6, M5, e46 m3 and CSL its a bargain.

Perhaps even so on the z4m.

I need to do this soon too, did they contact you and invite you to renew or did you have to chase them up?

I simply CANNOT express enough how awsome this warranty is! It's unlimted mileage and age, beats the hell out of me how they stay in business. Last 2 years I've had more than 7k in claims and they have not questioned one! It's going in 2 weeks from now for some more work, around 1k worth of work, again no problem. From someone who has had this warranty 2 years now, take my word for it, it's AWSOME!

i of course being my usual self, missed the renewal date.
Called the back and they wanted to know the mileage down to the last mile whereas i only knew the first 3 out of 5 digits, so told them i will call home and find out.

Of course there was nobody home and i wanted to get the warranty renewed before they change their mind and make take a the car for a checkup first.

So I called back and told them ***50.
The logic being is if the actual mileage is over that and i break down, i can easily say i have driven some since the renewal.
Not sure what i would be saying if the mileage is actually less... Maybe that the car is so fast, it travels back in time...

The bresakdown assistance is a nightmare, Mondial Assistance. Broke down in Belgium and took ages to sort out. I renew without breakdown cover, use ADAC instead...
