Hi all,

whats your view on BCA Condition Grades? Are they really over-cautious, or are the cars im asking about genuine nails (2-3yr old Audi A6 3.0TDI Quattro) from VWFS. Been a few years since I last bought and unfortunately the majority so far have been in midlands/north.

2 which I asked about were grade 4
1 was a grade 3

cheers, dave.

They're all over the place, I've seen Grade 4's which are basically immaculate and ones which look like they've done the Paris-Dakar rally.

Worst I ever bought was a Grade 2 which when delivered was terrible - not straight panel and scratched to death. Needed a complete resray. After an argument, they took it back and re-offered it as a Grade 6 (which doesn't technically exist!).

Generally, if it's Grade 2 or 3 it shouldn't be too bad.

thanks for the advice. When I heard of others being grade 4, decided maybe I should have sacrificed a day off and a train ticket to check it out.

Im sure there'll be another along soon!

thanks again.

Manheim is better as they generally give a condition report e.g 10mm scratch on front bumper etc

interesting to know. I bought 1wk subscription to Manheim "hammer time" today. Unfortunately no A6 3.0 TDI in the pipeline just now, maybe that'll change.

If any of you have a CAP black book - can you give me the price on good condition 2008 a6 3.0 TDI quattro Le Mans? thanks a lot.
