I'm flying MAN to LGW with BA for Ascot races next week and was wondering how to transport my suit.
I'm not checking in a suitcase just a carry on and have my suitbag. But the suitbag is too big according to the hand luggage size chart to go in the overheads. If I put it in the hold it's going to get creased and bashed as its only a thin suit carrier.

any ideas???

PS I dont want to wear to during the flight either ;-)

Get a smaller suitbag. There are planty available that fit in overhead lockers.

Personally I gave my brand new suit (in its suit bag) to the air hostess when I boarded the plane in Miami, it travelled first class all the way back!.

I was in tourist class though!

if I rolled my suitbag up it would fit in the overhead - but obviously it will get creased by doing so.

although this could be a small problem compared to if they decide to strike next Friday! tts!!

I flew on Sleazy the other week with a rucksack, mrs also had hand baggage plus I had an M&S suit carrier which doubles over. The fact I had two pieces of hand baggage did not appear to register with anyone at all, so I folded it neatly into the overhead locker on boarding.

No problem.

wear the jacket and roll (dont fold) the trousers in your bag.

That's good enough to get it onto the plane. Just don't roll it up when you put it in the overhead lockers?

The last few times I have flown and needed my suits I handed them straight to the stewerdess- the suit was on a hanger in a suit cover. I have found there are actually a couple of compartments dotted around the plane whihc appear to be specifically for this.

I have done this on a variety of different airlines but they were all long haul flights.
