Mr Numpty again!

Getting to the point of working out where I put the various senders and need some best ideas.

I am using the LS7 dry sump with oil reservoir, thermostat, and oil cooler arrangement, so what is the best place for the oil pressure sender? In the oil line or is there one on the LS7 block itself?
....and the oil temp sender?

In addition where are you guys mounting the water temp sender?

cheers

Hi Keith,

I don't know what intake you have but there is a a place for an oil pressure sender on the block just behind the valley plate (aft end).

Oil temp can be mesured in the bottom of the tank but the key is to find out from your engine builder what the temp should be there.

For coolant temp there is on place on the LH side (near the front) of the LH head and one on the RH side (near the back) of the RH head.

I hope that made sense.

My set up is as follows:-

Oil pressure - from the top rear left of the valley cover - my engine supplier modded it so I could screw in my Stack sender. I also fitted an oil pressure switch as a back up taken from just above the oil filter, screwed into an adapter plate I machined up.

Water temp - left the sender in the left head (front) -which just feeds into the engine loom/ECU so it drives the fans... my dash indication of temp is taken from the rear of the right head. See pic

Oil temp - currently in the bottom of the dry sump tank - indicates cooler here than the scavenge/ returned temp, but it's an easy place to install. I think standard (Corvette) install measures oil temp just above the filter - similar to where I have my extra oil pressure switch.

Cheers

That water temp thread in the ls7 block, does anyone know exactly what thread this is as std (looks like M12 but with a taper - but I may be wrong)?
My SPA supplied sensor is 1/8th NPT which is not very helpful cos there is not enough meat to make an adaptor, and I really dont want to be drilling this out just in case I make a hash of it!

Better if I can find the correct thread type and see if there is an alternative sensor out there that would be compatible with the SPA guage....?

cheers
